19-12-2007 We proudly present:
Snörokks Kenna We took a small roadtrip to Sweden yesterday to pick up the newest addition to the kennel. The puppy, called Kenna, had started her journey already a day before from Snörokk kennel, South of Norway. Kenna is very brave and responsive young lady who has already completely charmed all of us! :) Kenna's father is Blackjack's Jericho of Jedeye, a race leader from Jennifer and Blake Freking, who was imported to Norway last spring. Jericho has an impressive race record in mid-distance racing, and besides being a great sled dog, he also has the most wonderful temperament. Kenna's mother, Tara av Brattalid, is a race leader in Snörokk kennel and has also multiple finishes in mid-distance races including for example Femund 400 in 2007. I am really proud to have this charming little girl here, thank you so much Kari and Ulf Hope! And special thank you also to my friend Lena Buess who was so kind and gave Kenna a ride up to Jokkmokk.
10-11-2007 Snow is here!! The first runs on sleds are done this week. The dogs and the musher are enjoying themselves hugely :)
See the videos: Milou is growing fast. At the age of 12 weeks he weights about 13 kgs and is beginning to be the same size of Siren :) He is really active and responsive young boy whom I truly like. These pics are shot about a week ago:
13-10-2007 New Friends This fall has brought three new friends to the Hidden Trails. Milou the Alaskan Husky is the newest addition, a young and very easy-going pup. Also two Siberian Huskies, Nagar (Kefeus Traleika Nagar) and Pinga (Kefeus Malaspina Pinga) have found their way here. These two will only stay here for the winter. Thank you so much Jenni for trusting some of your best dogs to me!
Milou Nagar Pinga
The fall training is going very well. The dogs are running with good attitude and at the moment we just can't wait for it to snow enough to get on sleds. The season will be exciting ! My main leaders at the moment are Agon, Shiloh and Siren. For a few times I've also tried Wimma in lead and he really is a natural up there :) Dogs from driver's left: Lead: Siren, Agon; swing: Noki, Viti, team Pinga, Istna, Wimma running alone and in wheel Nagar and his son Tiikeri. See a videoclip of today's training run The Viti-pups are growing fast and getting all the time more beautiful; Roo Flamja Frigga Fenris
12-09-2007 Viiru "the reindeer dog" is now competing in third class (the highest possible) in agility!
We got our final win from the second class about a month ago and have been trying to figure out those tricky third-class courses since then. New challenges are always welcome :D 05-08-2007 It has been a busy summer! With the pups and all the young dogs plus our weekly obedience- and agilityclasses I sure don't have to think how to spend my spare time (what is that actually? ;)
Little Frode-boy moved to his new home at the beginning of July. He seems to be having a great time with his new family and the huskies, the kittens and the sheep :) The rest of the puppies, Frigga, Flamja, Fenris and Roo will stay here. They are growing to be intelligent, quick-learning juniors. Couldn't be happier with these little ones!
Viiru and Siren have spend a lot of their time this summer practising their skills in agility. Both are showing great potential and we are planning to take part on some competitions during the August/September. At the beginning of July Tuomas and I took some days off and travelled up to Northern Lapland, to Lemmenjoki National Park. We spent five days packbacking in the wilderness. Although the weather was a bit rainy (it has been like that all summer here) we had a wonderful time and are already planning a new trip :)
21-06-2007 Just can't believe how does the time fly! Puppies are getting seven weeks old by this Saturday, and it feels like it was just last week when they were born. I finally got their registration papers from the Finnish Kennelclub. Today we proudly present:
Faeryfrigga
Flamjafay
Fagnafrode
Fireunfafnir
Fenrisfenfire The puppies were named after old Norwegian mythology and stories. We have some dragons, kings and faeries in the crew :D Flamja is the only one who does not have a mythical name, she was name after her dad. Agon (or Ogon, as it is spelled right) means fire in Russian language, and Flamja means flame. We have also done the first backpacking trip of the summer. About two weeks ago three friends of mine and some of our dogs went out for a weekend in Riisitunturi National Park in Posio. I had Agon and Viiru with me and both of the dogs got adjusted to the walking/resting rhythm very easily. Agon was on his very first overnight-trip and the way he deal with it, I can surely say it won't be the last one :)
Agon and Viiru on the top of Riisitunturi.
Kaisa and Urho somewhere along the way.
Having a break.

We are getting big! From left: Roo, Frigga, Frode, Flamja See more pictures here 13-05-2007 Puppies are one week old! See their pictures from the puppypage
05-05-2007 We proudly present:
Five beautiful puppies were born this morning :) Two girls and three boys. Read more from the puppypage. Viti is very loving and caring mama to her babies.
26-04-2007 A few pics of the future mom:
Less than two weeks to go :) Can't wait till the little ones are here...
14-04-2007 Viti is definately showing signs of pregnancy :) Her belly has grown and she is a lot calmer than usually. We are very excited about these puppies and are eagerly waiting for the first week of May to see how many there will be :) As the sledding season is slowly getting to its end, we have started to practise some agility again. At the moment Viiru is doing some advanced training and Siren and Wimma are learning the basics. They are both very eager and easy to train, althought very different. Whereas Siren is very fast and very sensitive to my body language, Wimma is calmer and at this point easier, because he won't mind if I do a mistake (for example accidentally give him a wrong sign). We will have an interesting summer ahead of us with puppies, agility and leader training :) We are also planning to take part some dog shows. 05-03-2007 Puppyplans! :) :) We proudly present:
Agon x Viti (Jedeye Agon of Manitou x Kefeus Sirion Drusnaja) Both are eyechecked healthy and run lead in my team. Viti being my most trusted leader and Agon a young, very promising one. Both future parents come from very proven sleddog lines, and the pedigree of the puppies will be a nice mixture of mostly Anadyr and Vargevass. The puppies are expected to be born around the beginning of May. Read more from Puppypage :) The pedigree of the future litter
24-02-2007 New doggies in the Trails!!
Our "old" friend Noki (Jedeye Noki of Manitou) and our new friend Tiikeri "Tigger" (East Xpress Tiger) have joined us in the Hidden Trails. Both are promising young dogs who have very good attitude in harness.
From lead: Shiloh, Siren, Agon, Noki, Viti, Wimma, Tiikeri. And on the runners is Tuomas :) 03-02-2007 Snowy new year everybody! I have some new nice winterpics, enjoy :)
Agon does not appreciate much our photographing sessions... ;)
